The 19th Annual Mendota Mdewakanton Wacipi (Pow Wow) runs Friday, Sept. 7 to Sunday, September 9 and organizers are looking for 30 more volunteers as well as donations. (The Pow Wow is held on the grounds of St. Peter’s Church, 1405 Sibley Memorial Highway, Mendota.)

Come for the volunteering and stay for the Pow Wow!
The Pow Wow set up work involves physical labor, including setting up the kitchen, unloading pods, setting up canopies, tables, chairs, etc. This takes place Wednesday Sept. 5 through Friday Sept. 7. The work starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 6 p.m. daily. Pick a time that works for you! Snacks and beverages provided.
- Saturday. 8-10 p.m., four people needed as servers, dishwashers, order takers, grill, and fry cook.
- Sunday, 8-11 a.m. five people to help with kitchen set up and prep.
- Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., eight people needed as servers, dishwashers, order takers, grill, and fry cook.
- They also need experienced fry break cooks for multiple shifts.
